Line Cook Position Details

DESCRIPTION: Cook is responsible for the overall preparation of a wide variety of foods such as vegetables, fruits, meats, soups, salads, and cereals in accordance with prescribed recipes using a full range of cooking methods according to specified food handling procedures.
Education Requirement:
Culinary Arts Degree preferred but not necessary
Necessary experience:
Applicant must have 3 years experience in a high volume restaurant, casino or hotel setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Line Cook must be able to withstand exposure to excessive heat, potential fumes and steam. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and withstand prolonged standing and walking throughout shift.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to season and prepare a wide variety of foods such as vegetables, fruits, meats, soups, salads, and cereals in accordance with prescribed recipes; slice, grind, and cook meats and vegetables using a full range of cooking methods; Test foods being cooked for quality; carve and display meats, vegetables, fruits, and salads; carve and display meats, vegetables, fruits, and salads an assist other kitchen personnel as needed.
